Main Services Provided/Customer Standards

  • To conduct a general review of pay and grading structures and conditions of service in an equitable manner once every five years or as may be determined by the Government;
  • To address an Addendum Report to the main PRB Report subject to a decision of Government and within such time frame as may be determined by the Government;
  • To process requests in between reviews within 9 working days from receipt of relevant/complete information;
  • To examine and report within three weeks as from receipt of all relevant data on all cases concerning design/redesign of organisation structures;
  • To examine thoroughly all queries regarding interpretation/clarification of recommendations and make a reply within five working days of the receipt of relevant complete information ; and
  • To advise on conditions of service and employee benefits within 12 working days from receipt of all relevant information.
  • To carry out research work in an effective and efficient manner.
  • To update information that will assist in decision making.
  • To ensure that preparation of survey and questionnaire is carried out in an effective and efficient manner.
  • To conduct surveys and other relevant issues in the public sector for the formulation of policies.
  • To examine representations from management/unions and individuals in a fair manner.
  • To hear and discuss representations made by management/unions and individuals.
  • To respond to the changes in environment for the operation of processes and improve the existing organisational structure in an efficient and effective manner.
  • To write job descriptions for evaluation of jobs in a fair way.
  • To carry out job evaluation according to merits.
  • ​To carry out review of pay and grading structures and conditions of service with a view to motivating, attracting and retaining public officers while considering macro-economic stability and fostering harmonious industrial relations.
  • To examine disputes, alleged anomalies, errors and omissions arising out of the main PRB Report.

In the context of an overall review of pay and grading structures and conditions of service and organisation structures in the public sector, parastatal and other statutory bodies, local authorities and Rodrigues Regional Assembly are allowed to send their representations directly to the Bureau.
